This is one of the most common ships to see later in the game. Its techs go up to 350, and only a relatively small minority of players will ever be able to afford to max a voyager out by the time the game resets, so it'll last you a good while.

The voyager can be purchased for only 100 billion credits, so you'll see players in them fairly early in the game, and, maxed out, it is worth one quadrillion credits. That's 1,000,000,000,000,000 credits.

It is common to even have multiple voyagers. One voyager may be a player's flag ship, used for busting down big SD, taking planets, and blowing up other people's ships. Another might be for attack-and-running sectors down to manageable size. A player may even keep one as a trading ship. Voyagers are good for this since they can support over 300 hulls (unlike the endeavour) and they can have decent engines (saves turns) and can defend themseles (unlike the super cargo).
