Average Tech Level

This really just determines whether or not you get kicked out of fed space. Once your average tech gets over 160, you get towed.

It's important to note that you also get kicked out of fed space for having more than one ship, so for as long as it is not a hindrance on your playing style, it's worth keeping to a single ship that is under the 160 average tech level. The highest average tech level allowed in fed space is determined by the server admin, so please check this value in the settings page of the game you are playing.
